How Data Shapes Policy and Philanthropy

  • Northeastern University School of Public Policy and Urban Affairs 40A Leon Street Boston, MA, 02115 United States (map)

What are the most useful measures for tracking how well a city's economy is delivering for its residents? How much can we do at the local level to address the big national (and international) challenges of increasing income inequality and declining economic mobility? How might data and technology be effective tools for solving some of those challenges? What types of collaborations will be needed--across disciplines, across institutions--to leverage these opportunities?

Facilitated by Dr. Ted Landsmark.

-Luc Schuster, Director of Boston Indicators - The Boston Foundation.

-Daniel O'Brien, Associate Professor, School of Public Policy and Urban Affairs and the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice - Northeastern University; Co-Director - Boston Area Research Initiative.
